What is Dermapen® treatment?
DERMAPEN ® is considered by specialists as the “pencil that erases” scars and wrinkles. Treatment with DERMAPEN ® helps rejuvenate the skin, restoring collagen and elastin through a natural healing process.
The Dermapen ® treatment uses ultra-thin disposable needles with which multiple skin punctures are made that induce a wound healing response by producing new collagen and elastin. This new collagen and elastin improves the quality and texture of the skin, making it feel smoother and firmer and helping to correct and blur wrinkles and fine lines, as well as marks left by acne. This treatment also aids in the repair of surgical scars.
Each of the thousands of tiny puncture wounds induces the release of growth factors that initiate the wound healing process. These factors stimulate the release of collagen and elastin in the skin which is the goal of every skin rejuvenation treatment.
After Dermapen® treatment, the skin may be reddened for a few days with some fine crusting.
Generally a minimum of 3-4 treatments are required to achieve improvements in skin firmness and texture.
Improvement of scars may require 5 or more sessions.
Results appear gradually because collagen production takes time.
Most clients notice an improvement in their skin tone and texture within 3-6 weeks of treatment.
This treatment can be safely performed on all skin types (even the darkest) and it can be a safe treatment for sensitive areas of thin skin such as the neck, décolleté and eyelids.
