Poly Implants Prohèse (PIP Implant)
Like Mayka, she also had toxic breast prostheses inside her. Hundreds of women in the province, about half a million worldwide, are in the same situation. They are the victims of Poly Implants Prohèse (known in Spain as Implante PIP), a French firm run by a shrewd and unscrupulous businessman named Jean Claude Mas. The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Alicante considers that the doctors who implanted the PIP implants have not incurred any criminal liability, since these implants had the approval of the health authorities of the European Union for their commercialization.
