Cervical and Facial Lift: learn more about this surgery.

Through the cervical and facial lifting or face and neck lift, I get a tightening of the skin and muscles achieving an elevation and repositioning of the deep tissues thus achieving a younger and fresher appearance of the patient. You have more information in this article.
The cervical and facial lifting is the technique I use to perform a facelift of the face and neck, achieving a tightening of the skin and muscles.

We call rhytidectomy to cervical and facial lifting.

Aging of the face is the result of progressive damage to the skin, facial muscles, fat compartments and some bone resorption.

By means of the cervical and facial lifting or stretching of the face and neck, I get a tightening of the skin and muscles achieving an elevation and repositioning of the deep tissues thus achieving a younger and fresher appearance of the patient. I remind you that the result must be natural and harmonious, moving away from the aggressive cervical and facial lifts of the past that left an expression of “fright or speed”.

When we perform a cervical lift, what we want to achieve is a stretching of the neck area to recover the definition of the mandibular border and the cervical angle.

To achieve better results, we usually associate facelift and neck lift to facelift and neck lift:

  • Blepharoplasty for the treatment of excess skin and fat in the eyelids.
  • Liposuction of the jowls and neck to obtain the best results in the cervical area.
  • Filling of own fat (lipofilling) of the compartments where there has been an atrophy of the same such as in the cheekbones, in the temple area or temporal area, etc.
  • Injection of stem cells from the patient’s own fat to improve skin texture, luminosity, wrinkles and density.

To make the scars almost invisible, we usually “hide” them in inconspicuous places such as inside the scalp and behind the ear.

The surgery is performed in the operating room, under general anesthesia and lasts about 3-4 hours. If we associate blepharoplasty and lipofilling we have to add 1.5 hours more.

The postoperative period is not usually painful, it is important not to exert yourself and to rest to avoid bleeding in the area during the first few days. At first you will notice some tightness in the operated areas, especially in the area behind the ears and a certain tightness that will gradually normalize.

You will need about 3-4 weeks to return to work, which is usually the time it takes for the swelling to go down.

It is important that you follow our instructions both during the days prior to surgery and the days after to reduce the risk of possible complications, we will give you a document where they are written and so you can review it when you have any questions, anyway during the first days of rest at home you will have a 24 hour on-call phone to ask us any questions and concerns after your cervical or facial lifting.
