ISAPS(International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) has appointed Dr. Jesús Benito (Barcelona) as the new National Secretary of ISAPS in Spain replacing Dr. Enrique Etxebarría (Bilbao) who held the same position since 2013. In the same vote, Dr. Patricia Gutiérrez Ontalvilla, plastic surgeon at Hospital La Fe, was appointed, as his Assistant National Secretary for the next four years.
ISAPS Appointment
This ISAPS appointment has been the result of a vote carried out by the almost one hundred members that ISAPS has throughout Spain.
In the words of Dr. Patricia Gutiérrez Ontalvilla: “This appointment is an honor and I accept the position with great enthusiasm and the desire to do my utmost to ensure that the Spanish presence is greater, so that it represents the very high level of plastic surgery in Spain”.
Dr. Patricia Gutiérrez Ontalvilla already represented Hospital La Fe at the 23rd ISAPS congress in Kyoto (Japan), where she was a speaker with a series of works carried out in the Pediatric Plastic Surgery Unit to which she belongs.
Dr. Patricia Gutiérrez pointed out that “for me, continuous training is essential as part of my professional growth. When I give a lecture I am sharing my experience with colleagues and they in turn share their knowledge with all of us. This is the only way to progress in medicine. Our teachers did it and we must continue on that path. At least that is my vision of this profession”.
Dr. Patricia Gutiérrez belongs to the following prestigious international medical societies: the Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of the Valencian Community, the SECPRE (Spanish Society of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) and the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons).
