Labioplasty, Labiaplasty or Nymphoplasty

Labiaplasty is the reduction surgery of the genital labia minora.

Labiaplasty, nymphoplasty or labia minora reduction is indicated for women who, due to congenital or other causes, have asymmetrical or very large labia minora that distort the aesthetics of the perineal area.

For many of them, this hypertrophy prevents them from wearing tight clothes, bikinis, swimsuits and practicing sports such as spinning, cycling, as well as insecurity when having sex.

The nymphoplasty or labiaplasty is performed in the operating room under local anesthesia and sedation or spinal anesthesia and lasts approximately 30-45 minutes. We use stitches that dissolve in 2-3 weeks. The patient is discharged after a few hours in the hospital. During the postoperative period the patient must follow established hygiene guidelines so that the area heals normally.

After the operation, the patient can return to work almost immediately and must avoid sexual intercourse for 3-4 weeks.

The results of labiaplasty are permanent, with no visible scars. The degree of satisfaction of patients who have undergone labiaplasty is particularly high, reaching values above 95%.

In some cases labiaplasty is considered a reconstructive surgery. In those cases it is accepted within the portfolio of services of some insurances, mainly those of free choice with total or partial reimbursement. I advise you to ask your insurance company.
