Buttock augmentation is a technique which can be performed in both women and men. In women it comes to getting a buttock more rounded and “snub”; while with the man it’s about getting a more defined and manly buttocks.
The surgery is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia and lasts about two hours. The prosthesis is made of a high cohesive silicone gel to eliminate the risk of breakage when walking, running, sitting, etc. The implant is placed below the gluteus to make it unnoticeable. The incision is located in the crease between the two buttocks to make it less visible.
Once the intervention is finalized a pair of drains are placed and remain there for 48-72 hours and the area is tightly bound, this is replaced by a special binding that patients should wear for the next 3-4 weeks. During the first week it is advisable that the patient does not support any weight with the operated area and sleep upside down or sideways. The stitches are removed around two weeks. Exercise is not recommended during the first month and a half since the surgery.
In these patients it is important to follow the recommendation of avoiding intramuscular injections in the treated area due to the potential risk of puncturing the prosthesis.
